Changelog
This page is a running log of meaningful changes to PinkArmy - the changes a returning reader would want to know about, dated and described plainly. It is not a list of every typo we fix. Substantive factual corrections are handled on our corrections page; this log records everything else worth noting, including mistakes in how the site was built that were not factual errors inside an article.
We keep it because trust pages are easy to write and easy to ignore. A dated record of what actually changed, including the unflattering entries, is harder to fake and more useful to you. Each entry says what changed, when, and why it mattered; where a change fixed our own mistake, the entry says that too.
August 18, 2026 - Machine-generated excerpt removed from one article's page metadata
The page metadata for one essay, The Forty Feet Nobody Tells You About, contained a machine-generated excerpt that had leaked into the description field - the text search engines and link previews show for a page. It should never have shipped, and it did. We removed it, replaced it with a description drawn from the essay itself, and checked the rest of the site's page metadata for the same defect. The essay's text was not affected.
August 2026 - Site-wide editorial overhaul
We reworked the site as a whole to meet the standard described in our editorial policy: guides anchored to named primary sources with working links, essays in the Stories section kept clearly separate from guides, and the substance of every article reviewed against that bar. The policy pack - editorial policy, disclosures, disclaimer, and the other trust pages linked in the footer - was written in plain language as part of the same effort, and this changelog, the corrections page, and the methodology page belong to that rebuild.
The log begins with that overhaul. There are no earlier entries because there was no earlier log, and we would rather start an honest record late than backfill a flattering one.
