What do I Get in Return?
Joining Pink Army is not an “investment” that will generate a profit. You’re not buying a share that will increase in monetary value over time. Instead, you’re becoming a member in an association that has a common interest, in this case eradicating cancer.
The purchase of the share provides the cooperative capital to build its business and do work. It isn’t a donation. You can’t take a tax deduction.
What do you get for your $20? For one thing, equal ownership. Only one share is necessary to become a full, lifetime owner of the enterprise. Need more? You also get the excitement of being part of a a new wave of innovation in drug development, to be taking a completely different approach to curing cancer, to moving beyond the delays caused by the onerous clinical trials necessary for mass-marketed drugs, to really helping people with cancer.
Or look at it this way. Your money contributes to an experiment that might save thousands of lives. It might not work, but what if it does? It would be $20 that helped changed the world.
